Troubleshooting Tips Can't run the Evidence Eliminator™ installer program? After you downloaded the Installer program, double-click it. A "CRC" message from the installer program indicates a corrupted download, please try again. The Internet isn't perfect and data packets get corrupted occasionally along the route from our server to your PC. Download problems? Our Web-server is very reliable and connected via a high-capacity link to the Internet. There is always plenty of bandwidth available and you normally will experience a smooth, error-free download every time you connect. A failure to download may indicate a bad connection between your PC and the Internet, or faulty "Download Booster" - type software on your PC. Turn off any "Download Booster/Download Manager" type software. These cause lots of problems. Use only a Standard, Mainstream Internet Browser. Eg: Microsoft Internet Explorer: Some nonstandard or minority interest Internet browsers are badly programmed and cause lots of problems on the Internet in general. Turn off any "Proxy Server" this is an extra server at your ISP that can interfere with your connection. It could be faulty. In Internet Explorer 5 go to to Tools menu -> Internet Options -> Connections. Click the connection you are using and press "Settings". Uncheck the Proxy Server box. Beware 'Free' Internet providers hidden proxies Many Free services have a hidden catch. They do not connect you direct to the Internet. They use a hidden Proxy Server which you cannot disconnect, that remembers files and pages for hours/days, serving you 'canned' pages, not live content. NTLWorld Internet in the UK is one such service which is apparently forcing a proxy server on the WWW access of it's users. Many other free IPS do so because it cheapens their backbone connection costs. If a download corrupts, the free ISP's tend to 'cache' the file or web-page with the error in it. When you retry the download and the same error occurs, suspect that your ISP is not connecting you live to the internet. Try using a 'pay' internet connection to download our files. Wait a few hours and try again - a router or other system may be malfunctioning at your ISP. Unfortunately the Internet itself isn't perfect all the time, and some ISPs give you rotten service and unreliable connections. Try connecting from another machine, ISP and location. Call your ISP's technical support. Ask them if there is a problem connecting or a fault on their network. We can give you the best download speeds on the Internet but if your ISP is not allowing you to connect properly, we recommend using another service provider to get a better connection. To Un-Install from a PC To un-install Evidence Eliminator™ or any other program please first quit the program. In Evidence Eliminator™, right-click the system tray EE icon and select Exit. Open Control Panel and use the Add/Remove programs function. If our program is not listed there, we advise re-installing Evidence Eliminator™ to the same location, then go back to Control Panel to un-install. You may have to manually delete the installation folder afterwards, to complete the process. If you cannot see this program listed in the Control Panel add/remove programs section, Windows has probably lost the entry. Open the folder where you installed our software and double-click unwise.exe to uninstall. If at this stage you still have our software installed, your copy of Windows is corrupt. From the Start Menu - Find Files function, Locate all copies of ee.exe on your system and delete them. This removes our software forcibly. You should never have to do this and if you do, we advise reformatting your disk and reinstalling Windows fresh because it is corrupted. This problem is rare. To Manually Remove Right-Click Explorer Menus After un-installing a copy of Evidence Eliminator™ the un-installer program normally removes these menus from Windows. However if the copy was corrupted you may have to do this manually. Please reinstall EE, go to Options - Misc section and press the button to manually de-activate the menu items. Now de-install EE and the menus will not reappear. To Upgrade You Must close the old version from the system tray before upgrading. If you still have the old version running after an upgrade please use Start Menu Find Files function to find all copies of ee.exe on your system and then delete them all. Then reinstall the latest version. New! Evidence Eliminator™ is fully compatible with Windows 7. Evidence Eliminator™ CD-ROM is available.
