000101 - Program will not start, or gives error message as it starts (Includes OCX & DLL messages)

Corrupt installations of Evidence Eliminator™ (common problem)

Symptoms: The program will not start, or will not run, or it is giving errors like "ActiveX component can't create object" or "Dependency incorrectly registered"

Sometimes these errors are hidden behind the splash-screen. It looks like the splash-screen has "frozen". It is hiding an error message. Put your screen resolution up to 1024x768 or higher to enable the error message to stand out either side of the splash screen, you can grab the error message box, and move it out to read it.

Diagnosis: The current installation of Evidence Eliminator™ or one of its support files has not been completed properly or has been damaged by another program or a disk fault.

Windows 2000 Fix - This can be a problem with some Windows 2000 installations on versions of the software prior to 5.053. If you do not have 5.053 or higher, please press "Downloads" on our main Website and download the full version installer. This should fix it immediately.

If an error message relates to a specific .OCX or .DLL file (Like COMDLG32.OCX) this means a component of EE is not registered properly on the system, or Windows ActiveX registry has become corrupt. This Windows bug is commonly called "DLL Hell" where Windows becomes confused about its own components.

Another cure may be Uninstalling EE, deleting that file, reinstalling EE, DOS prompt to the system directory containing that file and type regsvr32 filename where filename is the name of the troublesome file.

If you still have the problem after reinstalling Evidence Eliminator™, Windows is corrupt. Reinstall Windows.
